Driven by the Belt and Road policy dividend, Saudi Arabia LED manufacturing factory automation upgrade

Since 2010, Saudi Arabia has been the core import market for Chinese LED lighting products. In 2021, Saudi Arabia ranked 25th in the global LED product import country rankings. Currently, the demand for LED lighting products in the local market continues to grow at a high level every year, and the number of local LED manufacturing enterprises in Saudi Arabia is also rapidly increasing.

This enterprise has over 40 years of industry experience in the assembly and sales of LED lighting fixtures, and has long provided full scene lighting project supporting services for local government projects and various commercial organizations in Saudi Arabia. Its core orders cover building commercial lighting, municipal road lights, and various indoor and outdoor lighting facilities, with an annual total order scale of up to 1 million pieces.

In the traditional production mode many years ago, customers relied on more than ten manual LED light assembly lines and invested a large amount of manpower to complete the assembly and production of lighting fixtures. All core raw materials such as LED beads and driving power supplies were imported from China and assembled into finished components, which were then packaged locally.

In recent years, with the continuous release of cross-border trade dividends brought by the "the Belt and Road" initiative, combined with Saudi Arabia's local tariff preference policy for localized production, independent production of LED core components through SKD semi bulk assembly mode has become the main development trend of all LED assembly enterprises in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, the industry competition in the local lighting market continues to intensify. By independently building SMT production lines to achieve self production of core components, the overall production cost can be directly reduced by 30%, greatly enhancing the market competitiveness of enterprises.

In 2018, the customer proactively contacted H.F.X, who was planning to build an LED dedicated SMT production line for their new factory to independently produce LED light boards and driver power components. Almost at the same time, H.F.X's senior overseas engineer Romeo had just completed his on-site after-sales service work in Russia and immediately set off to rush to the new factory site of the Saudi client. Under the close collaboration of both teams, this brand new LED SMT intelligent factory has successfully landed from scratch, helping customers completely break free from the traditional production mode of relying solely on imported core components and officially enter a new stage of independent mass production of LED core components.
